When I saw him standing there
heart flip flops and tiny deaths
who could breathe at time like this?
New dimension and reality restructures
suddenly the universe expands
Standing on the concrete floor
I’ve won the lottery glittery shiny costume jewelry
and I’m sparkling under his gaze.
No hurries as I’m finally home.
Time and time stands still.
Who needs to breathe at a time like this?
I’ve waited a million years
since you let me go in that other lifetime
your stardust leaving me; plain and dull and gray
and I remembered how you were ever mine
since before the beginning caught up in the ache
the passing of time, the forever of when you weren’t.
I’m dying to breathe at a time like this.
You stand there, my universe
just staring me down as time slogs on
daring me to move proof I live for you
Start this orbit, a slow course of revolution
spinning and tripping through space
I breathe at a time like this
just in time.
