Missing Pieces

It started as a simple search

I lifted it and looked underneath

I moved it over and tipped it

I crawled through the grass

stood out in the middle

of nowhere and waited for a sign

I thought maybe the rain would bring it

and I played in the mud puddles

a glance through a window

and the song of the winds

many hints and useful clues

And through the years

I kept up my search

waiting for it to turn up

out of the blue

least expected

and mostly anticipated

And just at the moment

I had given up

it had never surfaced

time had sped by

and with a ping and a bing

I felt it

and It made sense

that it was hiding

all this time

part of it was stuck in you

only to reveal

as you held me

I was the missing piece

and I was here all along.  🙂

I started writing when I was very young. Then I was mortified on a bus full of people when one of my stories was read aloud. I lost my focus and quit. Now, I'm trying to find my voice and my ambition. I love to write, good or bad. So, I'm doing it here and now. Thank you.

  1. I love this one too! I love how you keep the idea floating along in your words. Taking me visually away and then pulling me gently back to the idea. Its like Im a ballon on the end of the string you’re holding. Beautiful!

  2. Hello there! Just stopping by to say I really love your writing – it moves me in ways I cannot fathom and I’m in awe that you are able to put such profound thoughts into words. If you have the time, it would be immensely helpful if you could check out my poetry blog: https://theemptyvalleyoftides.wordpress.com/ and my prose blog: https://andtheriverfelltosleep.wordpress.com/. Would love to get some comments/feedback from you on my latest posts on both blogs. If you would like some feedback from me too, do sound it out! Thank you so much and have a great day/night/wherever it is in the world for you right now (: Sending you love xx
