Perhaps they were right all along

And this obsession is manufactured

An offering of my wildest temptations

A spiraling descent into my basest fantasies

And I had no business following where you lead

No reason when I submitted to your lies

And I was blindly obedient with every cut that felt like a kiss

And there was ecstasy where I bathed in the blackest fire

And when I tasted the poison you held out to me

I knew my soul was not my own.

These scars upon my flesh spelled out your name

I traced the symbols through the stars

With the fingertips shoved through my heart

And this is where I found you

My darkest wish borne of this darkest obsession.

I started writing when I was very young. Then I was mortified on a bus full of people when one of my stories was read aloud. I lost my focus and quit. Now, I'm trying to find my voice and my ambition. I love to write, good or bad. So, I'm doing it here and now. Thank you.
